Below, we offer some images to entice you to visit our beautiful and historic village.

The King's Arms and The Black Bull were once owned by the same landlord and were favourite haunts of Branwell Brontë... the black sheep of the famous literary family.

A visual-artist, public speaker and writer; Branwell's talents are often overlooked.

Bizarrely, not only was Branwell a drug addict and an alcoholic ... he also became the head of the Haworth Village Temperance Society !

The King's Arms is reputed to be haunted; having served for many years as both the village mortuary and slaughterhouse!    It sits at the entrance to Church Street, which takes the visitor past the church and schoolrooms to the Brontë Parsonage.

The Black Bull is also believed to be haunted and has featured in the 'Most Haunted' television series.

This is the schoolroom where all three sisters taught.

During 2006-07 it was converted into a contemporary art gallery, retaining one 'original' classroom for visitors to enjoy. Throughout 2007 it housed major exhibitions by our own Chris McCarthy and the American artist Matt Lamb.
